Now entering its third year, Rhode Island’s first and only festival dedicated to children’s films returns to Providence February 16-21, 2012. The Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) expands this year to six days and three venues, offering families and film fans shared theatrical experiences of even more high-quality, independent and international films, animation, documentaries, film-making workshops and presentations. The Festival features films for children and youth between ages 3-18, with provided guidance for content and age appropriateness. Partners and sponsors include BankRI, Butterfield, Carter Family Charitable Trust, Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, KidoInfo, Myranda Group, Providence Athenaeum, Providence Children’s Museum, Rag and Bone Bindery, Rhode Island School of Design, RISD Museum of Art, Seven Stars Bakery, and Whole Foods Market. For 2012, PCFF is excited to present an exclusive U.S. premier of award-winning European film shorts from Poland’s ANIMATOR film festival, one of the world’s largest and most recognized animation film festivals. This premier is the result of a special collaboration with RISD Senior Lecturer Marcin Gizycki, who also serves as Artistic Director of ANIMATOR.
